Torrey Project Incubator
A free (donor sponsored) incubator for social entrepreneurs and stakeholder-focused business leaders
We welcome entrepreneurs who are committed to doing businesses in a way that creates value not only for investors, but also for other stakeholders like employees, local communities, the environment and more. You don't need to be an expert in stakeholder theory to be accepted into the incubator, but you do need to have a viable business idea and be strongly committed to using business as a tool to make the world a better place.
Due to the generous sponsorship of donors who also see business as a tool to be used for good, our incubator, a $25K value, is completely free for all entrepreneurs accepted into the Torrey Project incubator program.
The incubator is located inside WeWork Aventine, in the UTC area of La Jolla.
The Torrey Project Incubator consists of a 4-week bootcamp followed by a year-long mentorship program, all designed to help entrepreneurs create strong, sustainable, stakeholder-focused businesses.
Our next cohorts will launch in January, 2020. In January, we will run two incubator cohorts side by side. Entrepreneurs must commit to attend every session of their cohort in order to participate.
All Female Founders Cohort
One cohort will be for all female founders and will run from January 6 - February 2, 2020. During the 4-week incubator bootcamp period, classes will be held every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 6pm-9pm and every Saturday from 9am-4pm.
The other cohort will be a co-ed cohort and will run from Jan 7 - February 2, 2020. During the 4-week incubator bootcamp period, classes will be held every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6pm-9pm and every Saturday from 9am-4pm.
From past graduates
I was looking to start my own business but didn’t know I could make money doing good for the world. Torrey Project changed my mind and gave me the courage and resources to do it.
The stakeholder approach is a very important part of the Torrey message. This refocused perspective on business works to create organizations that respect all stakeholders including people, the environment, and more
We wanted to learn more about conscious capitalism and how to effectively create and maintain a startup. My expectations as a entrepreneur and leader were exceeded throughout my experience within the Torrey Project.
