David Ferran

Former public company CEO & Turnaround Expert

David is the consummate entrepreneur and business leader. David founded his first company within months of graduating from the University of New Hampshire in 1978. He guided that semiconductor equipment company through the turbulent 80s, capping that decade with the leveraged buyout of a much larger publicly traded company. After combining and rationalizing the two organizations David led the combined company’s IPO on Nasdaq in 1994. After the hostile takeover of David’s first public company, he went on to execute two more public company turnarounds before launching a global M+A advisory firm focused on the Microelectronics sector. After 11 years as an advisor, David returned to his entrepreneurial roots forming two more semiconductor equipment companies. In 2016, David sold the last of his ventures and pivoted to his new line of work as the leader of Torrey Project, a 501 C 3 non-profit organization dedicated to educating and empowering a new generation of entrepreneurs and business leaders who believe that businesses can be profitable while simultaneously acting as a force for good in the world. David now mentors entrepreneurs, and coaches CEOs, across the country and around the world.
