Matt Oriente

ESG Service Team Leader

Matt Oriente is a passionate learner, a driven doer, and has focused his career on making a tangible positive impact in the world. This started in 2020 when Matt was a student researcher leading the University of New Hampshire’s Endowment Fund adoption of ESG principles. He was the main driver of the Fund’s proprietary ESG methodology, which is currently in use for all incoming and held investments. Matt then joined the University of New Hampshire Foundation Committee for Investor Responsibility where he continued to offer his input and expertise in the Endowment’s investment decisions. Matt applied this ESG knowledge and experience when working for Impax Asset Management as a Gender Analytics Research Assistant and Ironwood Investment Management as an Analyst expanding their ESG adoption through a UN Sustainable Development Goals framework. Matt also has experience in the corporate sustainability world, working with Lonza Biologics, building Sustainability strategies both on the operational side on-site and social responsibility side in the local community. In 2022, Matt was a consultant for Hartford, Vermont improving their Climate Action Plan by conducting carbon accounting and benchmarking for the town. Graduating from the University of New Hampshire in 2023, Matt has formal academic training in this space as a Sustainability Dual Major and his award-winning thesis research: An Analysis on Corporate Carbon Reduction Targets. No matter the project Matt is involved in, he ensures to be adaptable, tenacious, and charismatic.
